Jess Scopel

Programme Manager

Jess Scopel is the Programme Manager at the London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF), where she oversees the planning and delivery of the annual programme, working closely with partners, institutions, and an international network of students and educators. She has been involved with LIYSF for several years, contributing to the programme’s growth and supporting its mission to connect young people with global science opportunities.

Jess holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from London Metropolitan University and also a bachelor’s degree in Law from Centro Universitário da Serra Gaúcha (Brazil), and is currently undertaking postgraduate studies in Analytical Psychology at the Instituto Junguiano de Ensino e Pesquisa (IJEP) (Brazil).

Alongside her work in international education, Jess has explored different cultural contexts across Europe, Asia, and the Brazilian Amazon, where she spent time in a Huni Kuin indigenous community located in Acre, on the banks of the Tarauacá River engaging with traditional knowledge systems, including the use of plant-based medicines, and perspectives on nature, healing, and human development.

Jess is also the founder of H0rae, a project that explores psychological and symbolic approaches to personal development, with a focus on meaning-making and individual growth.

These experiences inform her approach to working in global environments and contribute to her sensitivity in supporting students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.
