About LIYSF

London’s Most Prestigious STEM Summer School

Inspiring the next generation of scientific leaders since 1959

Founded in 1959, the London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) is a two-week residential STEM enrichment programme hosted at Imperial College London and The Royal Geographical Society (with IBG).

Students engage in:

  • Lectures by Nobel Laureates
  • Masterclasses from global research leaders
  • Visits to world-class universities, laboratories, and industry sites

With students from over 90 countries, LIYSF creates a truly global learning environment.

LIYSF operates under the Royal Patronage of HRH The Princess Royal and is supported by UNESCO, reflecting its academic and cultural significance.

Accommodation

  • Students stay in secure student halls located in South Kensington.
  • Meals are included throughout the programme.
  • Standard rooms are typically twins, but they can accommodate up to four students
  • We offer the option to all female residence and upgrade to single occupancy room.

Safety & Supervision

  • All staff are DBS-checked
  • 24-hour supervision during the entire programme
  • A dedicated team of welfare and safeguarding officers
  • Dietary, cultural, and religious requirements are supported
