LIYSF 2009 celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a move to Imperial College London. Leading Physicist, Professor John Ellis, from the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) opened LIYSF 2009 as the key note speaker. Professor Lord Robert Winston, Emeritus Professor of Fertility Studies, Imperial College London welcomed students to LIYSF which had “Science Serving Mankind” as the main theme.

LIYSF offers a unique opportunity to participate in an international event attracting science students from around the world. The modern world still presents new challenges and the scientific advancements continue to increase. How science moves forward in the future with the thinkers of today and the questions to be asked comes from those attending LIYSF.

Thanks to the class of 09. LIYSF 2009 celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a move to Imperial College London. The below video gives an overview of the experience of attending LIYSF; from the lectures and demonstrations from leading scientists, to our visits to industrial sites, research centres and scientific institutions to the active social calendar with events designed to enable those from around the world to learn about different cultures.
