International Arrivals at Heathrow Airport

At the airport follow signs for the "Underground". This is the metro/tube/subway in London. There is only one "line" which goes to and from the airport - The Piccadilly Line (Dark Blue Line).  Take this and stay on the train until SOUTH KENSINGTON OR GLOUCESTER ROAD STATION (SEE BELOW).  There are roughly 15 stations along the line and will take 45mins.  Leave the train and go up the stairs to the ticket hall.  When you exit the ticket barrier turn immediately right and follow the below directions.

London Underground to Heathrow
London Underground's Piccadilly Line provides the most cost-effective rail route between Heathrow Airport and the capital.  Journey time is under an hour and you shouldn't have to wait longer than ten minutes for a train, even off-peak.

Where to catch trains?
Heathrow has three London Underground stations – one for Terminals 1 and 3, one each at Terminal 4 and Terminal 5.
Heathrow Terminals 1, 2, 3 station is in the central area between the terminals, which are a few minutes' walk away via underground walkways. Terminal 4 and Terminal 5 stations are in the basements of the terminal buildings. All stations are in Travelcard Zone 6.

Fares and tickets
A single fare to central London costs approximately £5. Purchase a Travelcard and you're covered for London buses and some mainline trains too.
Tickets are available at all London Underground stations, from ticket offices or machines. Pre-paid Oyster cards can also be used on the London Underground.

Times
For your information trains leaving FROM Heathrow to London start from 05.12am and the last train is at 23.48pm. Trains FROM London to Heathrow start from 05.47am and the last train is at 00.32am. Please note times are slightly reduced for services on Sundays – you can check for more information at www.heathrowairport.com/transport-and-directions/underground

Other Airports

If you are arriving into London to another airport other than Heathrow, it’s a good idea to check your route on the Transport for London website at https://tfl.gov.uk/

For all airports you should take the train they recommend to central London and then use the underground train system (metro/tube) to get to South Kensington. If you are arriving to Gatwick Airport, please take the train to Victoria (Gatwick Express) and then change to district or circle underground line westbound and get out at South Kensington or Gloucester Road, see directions below.

If you worried or would like to book a private car transfer with us (at an additional cost) please contact us (link to email info@liysf.org.uk)
